Breathwork is an active form of meditation in which we consciously and intentionally alter the breath. It’s a dynamic self-led process that has the potential for deep exploration, transformation, and healing. Drawing upon ancient healing and spiritual practices, breathwork sessions utilize the power of breath, sound, and inner wisdom to access non-ordinary states of consciousness. Studies have repeatedly found that breathwork also reduces stress, lowers cortisol and blood pressure, releases oxytocin, increases circulation and parasympathetic activity (the body’s relaxation response), and even has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body.

Because this process can bring up intense emotions and strong physical sensations, you may experience emotional distress during and/or after breathwork. As a certified trauma-informed breathwork facilitator, my goal is to support, guide, and help you integrate your breathwork experience. While my desire to share this practice is a result of my own life-altering experiences with breathwork, I am not a licensed health professional, nor am I a therapist and outcomes are as unique as we are.
